The enhancement works at Jubilee Recreation Ground, Adlington were undertaken to improve accessibility, visitor facilities, and the overall functionality of this well-used community recreation space. The project involved a comprehensive programme of civil engineering and landscape improvement works designed to support increased visitor numbers while enhancing the appearance and usability of the site.
A key element of the scheme was the construction of an additional car parking area, providing much-needed parking capacity and improving access for visitors. Associated infrastructure works included the installation of new kerbing and footways to create safe and clearly defined pedestrian routes throughout the site. Ducting works were also undertaken to facilitate future service connections and support the long-term development of the recreation ground.
The project included the construction of new steps to improve movement between different levels within the site, ensuring safe and convenient access for users. Landscaping works were carried out to soften the appearance of the newly developed areas and integrate the improvements into the surrounding environment. New fencing and knee-rail installations were provided to improve site management, define boundaries, and enhance user safety.
In addition, a vehicular height restriction barrier was installed to control site access and protect recreational areas from inappropriate vehicle use. The completed scheme has successfully enhanced the recreation ground, creating a safer, more accessible, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors while supporting the long-term use and enjoyment of this valuable community asset.
As part of our social value commitments when completing the Jubilee Recreation Ground Car Park we met with the Friends of Adlington Library and donated to their community group. Supporting small community groups through social value contributions can have a significant and lasting impact on local communities. These organisations often operate with limited resources yet provide vital services, activities, and support networks that improve the wellbeing of residents. Donations, whether financial, material, or through volunteer support, help community groups continue their valuable work, deliver new initiatives, and reach more people in need.
