The contract at Spirit of Sport was carried out of behalf of Lancashire County Council. Spirit of Sport is one of the new ‘super’ school facilities to be constructed within East Lancashire. The area to be developed was the original playing fields that had been disturbed during construction works, the area needed dramatically re profiling to new levels and form several plateaus for the new pitches.
The works involved topsoil strip and stockpiling, substantial earth re modelling, installation of a new drainage system including lateral drains, main drains, silt traps and connection into existing surface water drains, re spreading of topsoil to new profiles and seeding works.
