St Catherines Memorial, Lostock Hall

Client: South Ribble Borough Council
Value: £99,000

We were honoured to be awarded this build by South Ribble Council. The strong design, of huge scale, has created a permanent feature on a key gateway roundabout and carriageway.

The design, based on the first world war battlefields gave us something unique to build. It is truly an eye-catching piece build by DP Structures of Burnley. Fabricated in ‘corten steel’ the sculpture is of a scale and size not to be missed. The ‘trenches’ feature with its oak sleepers and sandbags with gabions form a backdrop to complement the sculpture theme.

The sculptured memorial forms a gateway to the memorial garden which is linked to a series of footpaths and a river crossing that forms a country park/local green space.

We are really pleased with the end result and the impact it has for passers-by. The quality of the build was excellent and we are pleased with the fact this was all made in Lancashire.
